Help!! Madonna has adopted my two-headed love child with tourette's!! (or CNN: Complete Nitwit Network?)

Unless you've been living under a rock, you are currently aware that Madonna and Guy Ritchie have decided to adopt a little boy (whom they've named David) from Malawi, Africa.

But if that rock is your home, you may also not know that Malawi is an AIDS ridden country that is both impoverished as it's habitants are malnourished. Having said this, I find that the "controversy" surrounding Madonna's adoption to be both absurd and unwarranted.

Let's see:

- Living in a palatial estate with Madonna vs A hut covered with bugs?

- AIDS vs Good health and the best doctor care money can buy?

- Lourdes & Rocco vs Two brothers who just recently passed away?

- The sound of pain and suffering vs The Ray of Light CD?

You get the point. I don't think the choice is that hard.

When I got to the gym tonight however, I found it not only bizzare but completely unneccessary that CNN had a debate going on, hosted by Larry King, about this topic that lasted AN HOUR!

AN HOUR!!!!

Now, granted, CNN, like almost every other news station has had it's run of f**k ups but this was a little absurd. It was bad enough to see this make front page news of both the Post and the Daily News, but now CNN??

Ugh!

And this wasn't just a one on one debate, but it was a debate with 4 people! So not only did they think this was worthy of heated discussion, but they got 4 other numb-nuts to jump on the band wagon!

Maybe *I* missed the mark here, but there are plenty of other things going on that are worth covering and make better news reports. Something more informative to the general public, y'know?

When I last checked the world was filled with injustices: There was a war going on, our president wasn't the brightest light bulb for sale, Lynne Stewart was given only 28 months in jail for aiding terrorist communication, North Korea is acting like they're in a shooting gallery and Paris Hilton not only released her first CD but is currently on her THIRD single!!!

And all of that is put to the side to make sure the world knows that Madge & Guy are trying to do a little bit of good in the world...and they're putting a bad spin on it!

As my friend Phil put it: "They're acting like she cut in front nine barren couples at Costco for the next red light special on white babies!"

I will go on the record with this. I stand by Madonna in this decision and I will even go as far to forgive her for the "American Life" CD if she keeps making choices like this. While she may not be ready for the sainthood, doing what you can to better a child's life is the closest thing you can get to it in my eyes.

Having said that, I hope that she adopts a whole tribe and teaches them to Vogue while reciting the Kabbalah backwards.

Till Then,
John Michael

AMEN Sistah!

I agree, I'd much rather be Madonna's baby than the baby of a father who gave me up at 1 month old.

As for the American Life CD - I like it. It's like MUSIC pt. 2
